Craziness all around.

I know, it has been FOREVER since I blogged last. I have had TONS going on and I really don't even know where to start. So I will start with the past couple of months.... My sweet Aunt Brenda (whom I have blogged about before) went to meet Jesus last month. I am so thankful that she is not in pain anymore!! I have personally had a couple of scares myself when I went to the doctor and he found a lump in my breast and that my uterus was enlarged.. Scary I know, but God sent down grace upon me! The lump in my breast was a swollen lymph node from where I had been sick and the uterus was a suspicious mass. After biopsies they determined that it was a fibroid. Whew what a relief! My sister called me only a month ago and told me the most devistating news that I could imagine after all that had been going on. Trina who is 27 was diagnosed with stage 2 Cervical cancer and is currently undergoing oral chemo. She is a single mother to 2 boys. Her biopsies last week came back negative and she now has to have one more round of oral chemo for 14 more days. Praise God! In the middle of all this, Nathaniel...turned 9 (yes I said 9).. I turned 31..and have finally decided what I want to do when I grow up! LOL I have applied for nursing school and should be finding out something this week! I am so nervous! With all that has been going on, I know that God was walking with me through this journey as I could not have made it through without him! I am so grateful everyday for his Grace!! I have recently started a diet and excercise program and have lost 18 pounds... ask me how! I am still selling Thirty-One, and doing hair 1 day a week in a salon and now am venturing out and am working in a new nursing home doing hair as well. I love those little old people!!

Until next time.....

Kaitlynn Olivia Johnson

Seven amazing years ago today, I gave birth to my 2nd child. The first girl on my side of the since my sisters. My great-grandmother had 7 girls, My grandmother had 3 girls, my mother had 3 girls and all of us girls had boys. That is until Kaitlynn Olivia Johnson came into this world! She is one cool chick I tell you! She is smart, funny and she is 110% all girl! She likes to play in make-up, playing with her babies, and her barbies! She is 7 today going on 18! We will be knocking noggins soon! The only thing that she asked for this birthday was a "snuggie" and she got it. I miss her being a baby/toddler. In my eyes I guess she will always be my little snuggle bug!

Daniel Guy Johnson

Daniel is my amazing husband. Daniel and I met almost 10 years ago. I will never forget the day that I met him. He had such a sweet spirit about him. After talking to him a while I discovered that his ATM pin number was my birthday, and that we were both born in Dallas Texas! Fate I say brought us together. Thanks to my dear friend Sara for dating his dear friend Mike! I love him because he is a Godly man. He loves me unconditionally. He loves me when I am un-loveable. He loves our children. I can see the joy that they bring to his life. I thank God everyday for him. What an amazing role model he is for our kids! I appreciate the fact that I can be myself with him. He knows my strengths and weakness'. He is my help mate, lover and friend. He brings joy to my life everyday!

The P.L.A.N.

Am I fitting into God's Plan?
What are my Longings?
What are my Abilities?
Am I serving God Now?

"From now on, then, you must live the rest of your earthly lives controlled by God's will and not by human desires" (1 Pet 4:2)

As I read this today I began to think about what my P.L.A.N. really is. I wondered what it would be like to completely be in God's plan! I desire to be in His plan. I have abilities that I often do not use to glorify Him. How am I serving God now? How are you serving God now?

I was delivered with some sad news today that I really did not want to hear. My aunt Brenda was diagnosed with breast cancer a while back. She has been through Chemo and radiation. After going to the doctor this past week, she found out that her cancer was back. When they did a p.e.t. scan they found cancer everywhere. I can remember as a young child staying the night with her. We would sit on the bed and laugh until wee hours of the morning. She would be laughing at me and her son Shaun. We would play dress-up in her closet...mess up the living room and just be kids. I felt free at her house, free as in I could do anything and get by with it. She would always be awake before us and cook us breakfast. I love Brenda. The best thing that I can think of is that she was such a bold witness for Christ all through out my childhood. She would pick me up from my mom's house and take me to church. She shared the word with me. She planted more seeds that she will ever know. I use to pray that one day I could be as bold as she was. You have to understand Brenda is only 5'3"... so at age 10 I was as tall as she is! As I reflect on my childhood and my dealings with her, my eyes swell up with tears. I feel that she is too young to die, too young to have all this cancer. Truth is, cancer knows no age. It attacks viciously. It is silent. However, I know that through all of this..GOD HAS A PLAN! Right now, we are praying for her will. She is a fighter. They will be placing a central line to start administering Chemo once again. She is in great spirits. She knows that our God is able to heal if it is His will. Please pray for her, pray for my cousins Shaun and Audrey. Pray for my uncle Darrell.

So, as I reflect on my P.L.A.N.. am I doing what God's will is for me? What kind of legacy will I leave? What kind of legacy will you leave?

COUPONS

After days and weeks of hearing one of my friends talk about coupons and how much she saved at the grocery store, I decided to give it a try. I ventured out and went through this tutorial on Southernsavers.com. They give you all the steps that you need to take to help you get the most out of manufacturers coupons!
So, yesterday I set down with the Sunday paper and went through all the ads and cut out every single coupon. I even cut out coupons that I didn't need. Keep in mind that most, if not all, of these coupons do not expire or 3 months. I probably cut out over 100 coupons just in 1 paper! While I was clipping coupons, I went through all the sale ad's to see who had what I needed most on sale!
Southersavers.com also has great links for free coupons that you can print off online. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE! After clipping all those coupons and printing the out, I ventured out to Kroger! I didn't purchase one thing that I didn't have a coupon for! I got everything that I needed and then some! With my Kroger card and the coupons I had I saved $90 TODAY! Doesn't that make you wanna have an obsession with coupons and be diligent with them?
I have always been taught to be "good stewards" of our money even if it doesn't work sometimes. What a way to help out in this down time in our economy! I can't wait to see what else I can do with all these coupons!
THANKS AMBER COWAN!
